365 Cards Challenge Day 95

Boy, today's challenge at 365 Cards was really tough. The challenge was to use pink, orange and blue as your primary colors in your card for today. I must tell you that these three colors are NOT my favorite. I had to really think about it. Every shade of these colors either looked dirty or reminded me of a bad 70's pillow design. After struggling for a bit, I decided to go with Stampin Up! In Color inks of Tangerine Tango, Pink Pirouette, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. I resorted back to my old standby technique of using a baby wipe to blend the colors for the butterflies. Well, not my favorite card....but I met the challenge!

365 Cards Challenge Day 94

Yesterday the 365 Cards Day 94 challenge was to use this ad as inspiration to create a card. I had forgotten how elegant lime green, black and white look together. This challenge was so much fun because I rarely use black and white in my cards. Which is funny because most of my wardrobe is brown or black. I think that my cards are so colorful because I do not usually wear bold colorful clothing.

Well, I absolutely love this color combination. What a great ad to enter into my idea journal. Tammy from 365 Cards....You rock!

Hi all, Just going through some of my card collection and picked out a mini-card set that I made with some pretty paper that I bought about a month ago. I need to hit the techniques pages at SCS to learn how to make a cute box for them and they will make a nice gift.

I found the cute shimmery flower paper at The Scrapbooking Store and fell in love with it. I didn't want to overdo it so I just added some paper piercing and a simple sentiment.

This was fun because I got to use new SU Bella Rose paper that I ordered. I also got to bust out the buttons. I sure haven't added those to a card in awhile. I also used one of my favorite techniques, baby wipe, to get the pretty colors on the flowers. My materials list was as follows:

Inspiration Challenge 2

I loved the floral design of the inspiration napkin. I also really loved the colors in the napkin. So, I went through my floral paper and fell in love with this design and color combination. I am really happy with it.

Looking through my card stash, I found some that I made a few months ago that fit nicely into this inspiration challenge. I also found some great paper to use when I actually make a card tonight.

I am so excited to complete my first inspiration challenge. This napkin from Crate and Barrel is the item that I chose for inspiration. I am going to get stamping tomorrow night and will have my card posted when I am finished. This is going to be fun!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday is Friday May 29th and I created a card set for her. I usually use 2-sided scrapbooking tape on the envelopes. However, this time, I tried out the "Lick and Stick" envelope glue. It says non-toxic but we will see. We don't need a Seinfeld incident!
